Father and Son duo, Doug and Micah Ness, are the founders of Wilderness Pro. Doug, Micah and their family have created a beautiful and authentic destination, making you instantly feel like you’re part of the family. Their passion is to share the Alaskan experience with as many people as they can. Wilderness Pro helps showcase the beauty of the landscape and facilitates long lasting memories which leave their guests wanting more of Alaska.
We began building the Wilderness Pro Lodge in 2007, with a dream. To share this amazing place with others. What started as a family getaway, has become so much more.
When Micah was a big game guide apprentice in Alaska at the age of 16, Doug & his other son, Josiah, visited Alaska for the first time. It was then that a spark created a burning desire to return time and time again. That spark eventually led to purchasing property in 2006 and then breaking ground on the lodge in 2007.
Since that time, Micah and Josiah have gone on to start a successful filmmaking and photography business called Silverline Film. They are based in Idaho, but travel to Alaska often, joining in on the adventures, and sharing in the family atmosphere.
Their strong love for Alaska and it’s beauty, made creating Wilderness Pro a no-brainer. Both Doug and Micah are guides for fishing and excursions around the Alaskan terrain, and are always looking forward to sharing their love of Alaska with others. It is still a family endeavor, with Doug’s wife Marge involved with maintaining the lodge, and cooking. She is the glue that holds everything together, and their warm welcome is evident from day one.
