Our packages are designed for small groups and provide you with a personalized experience, right on the lake away from town, cars, airplanes, dust and city sounds. These tours let you sleep in comfort in the bush and experience it right outside your bedroom window. This is the way Alaska should be experienced.
Below are a few packages that many of our guests have enjoyed. We also offer custom packages to meet your individual group’s budget, schedule, and desires. Every trip is a different adventure, depending on the weather and your interests.
These days can be mixed activities- you choose the trip you want! The guide, and gear are supplied, based on the adventure you choose. Your all-inclusive stay will include home-cooked meals, housing, and boat transportation. We offer trips ranging from 1 to 7 days. Example daily family-friendly adventures are listed below. Our wish is for you to create the best adventure for you! You have the option to book your adventure now, and then schedule your call to customize pricing. Additional days are available, just ask for pricing.
Note: Alaska weather can dictate arrival and departure times and can affect guided day trips. That is part of the Alaska experience. Wind can make the lake not safe to boat on.
We can arrange round trip flights from Anchorage to Port Alsworth with a custom package if requested.

Example Adventure
Travel Day
Arrive at Anchorage International Airport, then take a taxi to Merrill Field where you will board a small plane to fly out to Port Alsworth in Lake Clark National Park. The afternoon flight out if the weather is clear is similar to an I-Max theater event. Arrive at Port Alsworth and WP will meet you at the plane, bring you to the end of the runway, then bring you across the lake on a scenic boat ride to our lakeside lodge where you will get settled into your rooms. Checkin is after 1:00. Following orientation & lunch, take a tour of Dice Bay, go for a walk, then have dinner on the deck overlooking the lake. After dinner, take a walk, kayak in the bay, or relax and read a book in front of a campfire on the beach. Every evening you will have an opportunity to enjoy a sauna or a wood-fired hot tub.
Example Day 1
Guided fishing day on the Kijik River
The first morning in the bush, wake up to hot coffee, tea, or Alaskan Chaga tea on the deck with a breathtaking view. After a hearty breakfast, your guide will discuss the day’s adventure, then it’s off on a 7-mile boat ride to the beautiful Kijik River. Depending on the weather, enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and some fishing at the mouth of the Kijik. Next, is a thrilling ride going up the Kijik River in a mini jet to the Aquarium to fish in solitude, where you will experience world-class grayling and sockeye fishing and sightseeing. Kayaking in inflatable kayaks back down the river to the mouth of the Kijik is another option. Afternoon lunch will be over a campfire including the trimmings. Later on in the afternoon, jet boat down the Kijik and head back to the lodge for relaxation and peaceful dining in the dining hall. Weather permitting, daily evening activities include kayaking, calm water paddling, hot tub, and sauna.
Example Day 2
Guided or unguided day hiking to Tanailian Falls.
Wake up to hot coffee or tea and a delicious breakfast served on the deck with a breathtaking view. Boat across the lake to Port Alsworth’s Lake Clark National Park Service Visitor’s Center for an overview and history of the Park, then hike 2.5 miles up to beautiful Tanalian Falls and Kontrashibuna Lake. Make lunch over a campfire and do some fishing for grayling and Lake Trout. If you have some kayaking experience, you have the option to rent inflatable kayaks and float 3 miles down to the mouth of the Tanalian River. We can either pick you up with the boat at the mouth of the river or in Port Alsworth if you choose to hike back. Then we will head to the lodge for dinner. Kayaking in the bay will always be an evening option, depending on the weather.
Example Day 3
Guided fishing day on Pike fishing in Chulitna Bay
After morning coffee, tea & breakfast on the deck, we will boat 6 miles to Chulitna bay to fish for Northern Pike. We will teach you how to prepare a campfire, for cooking noon lunch. Typically eagles will be in the area watching us. While learning about the life cycle & ecosystem of Northern Pike you will have the option to view the fish in their habitat with an underwater drone. Back at the lodge for dinner & evening options.
Example Day 4
Guided fishing day on the Kijik river and Kijik Lake
After breakfast, boat to the beautiful Kijik River. After some fishing at the mouth of the Kijik, we will take the exciting ride up the Kijik River in the moto jet, past the bald eagle’s nest, to the Aquarium, a pond where the water is as clear as the blue sky. View grayling or sockeye salmon up close with an underwater drone in their habitat. Depending on the season, there will be sockeye salmon running up the river to spawn & you will learn about their fascinating 4-year life cycle and ecosystem relating to the grizzly bears and eagles. Afternoon lunch will be on a campfire with fresh-caught fish, including the trimmings. Later on in the afternoon, either kayak or take the jet boat down the Kijik to the mouth. Then cruise back to the lodge for relaxation and peaceful dining in the dining room. Weather permitting, an evening with a beach campfire or a quiet hike on the beach, calm water paddling, hot tub, and sauna are available.
Example Day 5
Guided fishing and sightseeing in Little lake Clark
After breakfast, if the weather permits, boat 25 miles to the north end of Lake Clark into Little Lake Clark & hike 3/4 mile to Cave Falls. This is a 200 ft. tall waterfall that cascades over the mouth of a massive cavern in the mountain. After hiking back to the mouth of the river, eat lunch on the beach and fish the mouth of the river for Lake Trout, Arctic Char, and grayling. Kayak around on inflatable kayaks in front of the sheer extreme mountain terrain. Then head back to the lodge for a relaxing meal and a peaceful evening.
Example Day 6
Unguided fishing at the mouth of the Kijik River
After breakfast, boat to the beautiful Kijik River. We will send you with a box lunch and will drop you off for a day of some fishing and hiking at the mouth of the Kijik. Greyling and sockeye salmon are abundant. Depending on the season, there will be sockeye salmon staging at the mouth and running up the river for the spawning season. It is common to see eagles. You can make a campfire and relax. In the afternoon we will pick you up and then cruise back to the lodge for relaxation and peaceful dining in the dining room. Weather permitting, an evening with beach campfire, or a quite hike on the beach, calm water paddling, hot tub and sauna are available.
Day 8
Departure Day
Have hearty morning breakfast and pack and we will say goodbye. We will boat you across to Port Alsworth, to catch your flight out of the bush and have your camera read for the scenic flight back to Anchorage.
Example Day 7
Guided or unguided hiking day on Tanalian Mountain
Wake up to hot coffee or tea & delicious breakfast on the deck with the breathtaking view. If it’s a good visibility day, boat across the lake to Port Alsworth and hike up Tanalian mountain (4- 4.5 hour hike up the mountain). The view from the mountaintop of the lake is unbelievable. Eat lunch at the summit with a view for 80 miles. Hike back down the mountain to Port Alsworth and then boat back to the lodge for dinner. Kayaking in the bay, hot tub and sauna are options for the evening.
